Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in a classroom setting
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for students
  • Help students with their learning and development, including personal care if required
  • Support students during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching staff and other professionals to create a positive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • SEN Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience
  • Valid DBS check

Education:

GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

Prior experience working with children with special educational needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN strategies and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with SEN

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher level teaching assistant (HLTA) qualification
  • First aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Typical school hours, Monday to Friday
  • Work within a classroom setting
  • Potential requirement to assist with outdoor activities or school trips

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
