We’re looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist setting in the Gateshead area. This role is perfect for someone who loves building trust, creating calm, and helping pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

What the role looks like

  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication needs or social, emotional and mental health challenges

  • Helping pupils access learning through structured routines, visual prompts and positive reinforcement

  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams

  • Bringing consistency and compassion to every part of the day, from classroom tasks to sensory breaks

  • Being that dependable adult pupils know they can count on

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
