We’re supporting a welcoming specialist school in the Gateshead area that’s looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who brings patience, curiosity, and a calm presence to the classroom. If you’re someone who lights up when a pupil takes a small step forward, you’ll fit right in.
What you’ll be doing

Working closely with pupils with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, communication needs, and SEMH

Supporting learning in and out of the classroom in a way that feels structured and reassuring

Helping pupils with routines, sensory regulation, and social interaction

Teaming up with teachers, therapists, and support staff to keep things consistent and positive
-
Creating an environment where every pupil feels safe, heard, and ready to learn

Experience working with children or young people with SEND, or strong transferable skills

Calm, caring, and adaptable in busy moments

Someone who builds trust quickly and understands how important relationships are

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
