About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils who require additional help to access learning. Your day may involve:

  • Working 1:1 or with small groups

  • Supporting children with SEND such as autism, learning difficulties or SEMH needs

  • Helping pupils stay focused, calm and engaged

  • Using personalised strategies to support behaviour, communication and independence

  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation

  • Promoting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of every child

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals

  • A warm, patient and adaptable approach

  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

  • Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs

  • Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries

  • A DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
