Job Duties:

1. Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom setting

2. Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans for students with SEN

3. Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and development

4. Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts

5. Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

- Relevant experience working with children or individuals with SEN

- Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions

Education:

Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)

Experience:

Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies

- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach

Preferred Qualifications:

- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

- Additional training in specific areas of SEN support

Working Conditions:

- Work primarily within a school setting

- Regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents

- Potential for some physical activity such as assisting students with mobility

- Adherence to school policies and procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
