Here’s a lovely opportunity for someone who’s passionate about supporting pupils who need a bit more time, structure, and patience. A friendly primary school in Barnsley is looking for a long-term SEN TA to join their established SEND provision from January.

You’ll be working closely with pupils who benefit from extra emotional, behavioural, or sensory support. If you’re calm under pressure, good at reading the room, and brilliant at building rapport, you’ll fit right in.

Your role will include

  • Supporting children 1:1 or in small groups within the SEND base

  • Helping pupils stay settled, focused, and confident

  • Using visual supports, routines, and personalised strategies

  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to remove barriers to learning

  • Celebrating every small win, every day

What you’ll need

  • Experience with SEND or a genuine interest in working in this area

  • A positive, steady presence that pupils can rely on

  • Strong communication and a caring, flexible mindset

  • A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
