Job Description:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to post 16 students with special educational needs (SEN) in a classroom setting. Your duties will include:
Job Duties:
- Assisting the teacher in implementing individual education plans for students with SEN
- Supporting students with their learning and development
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Providing one-to-one support to students as required
- Assisting with classroom management and behaviour strategies
- Collaborating with other staff members and professionals to support student progress
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
- Relevant experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience working as support worker
- Knowledge of SEN and different learning needs
- Ability to adapt and respond to individual student requirements
- Patience, empathy, and understanding towards students with SEN
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Diploma in Health and Social care
- Training in Manual Handling and Safeguarding
- First Aid certification
