We are looking for a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our school in LS27, Leeds. This role involves providing crucial support to children with Special Educational Needs working both 1-1 and with small groups.

Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored 1-1 support to a child with SEN, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom.

  • Work with small groups of children with SEN, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement SEN strategies and use appropriate resources to meet the needs of the children.
  • Track and report on the progress of the child and small groups to the SENCo and class teacher.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support the overall development of the child.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, especially in a 1-1 and group setting.
  • A good understanding of SEN practices and support strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and a dedication to helping all children reach their potential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) are highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
