We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our schools in Leeds LS11 . This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment, providing essential support to children with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-1 support to a child with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met and they can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Work with small groups of children with SEN to foster their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Use strategies and resources tailored to meet the needs of SEN pupils.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of the child and small groups to the SENCo and class teacher.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support the child’s holistic development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies, including experience with 1-1 support and group work.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping every child succeed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent are desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
