We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our schools in Leeds LS11 . This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment, providing essential support to children with Special Educational Needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1-1 support to a child with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met and they can access the curriculum effectively.
- Work with small groups of children with SEN to foster their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Use strategies and resources tailored to meet the needs of SEN pupils.
- Monitor and report on the progress of the child and small groups to the SENCo and class teacher.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support the child’s holistic development.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school setting.
- Strong understanding of SEN strategies, including experience with 1-1 support and group work.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping every child succeed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent are desirable.
