Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Location: London, Greater London, Harrow (N, W, and S)

Job Type: Contract, Full-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in classroom settings
  • Assist teachers in implementing individual education plans for students with SEN
  • Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs, if required
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as educational psychologists and speech therapists

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Knowledge of SEN and experience working with children with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt to different situations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SEN-specific qualifications such as SEN Diploma
  • First Aid certification
  • Experience using assistive technology for students with SEN

  • May require some physical exertion when assisting students with mobility needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
