Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Support)

Job Duties:

  • Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom, working closely with the class teacher
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN
  • Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
  • Provide personal care and medical assistance to students, if required
  • Monitor and track student progress and report to teachers and parents

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Certification in supporting students with SEN


Further education qualification in Education or relevant field is desirable


Prior experience working with children or students with SEN is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning needs and abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Training in behaviour management techniques

Working Conditions:

The role involves working in a classroom setting with students with SEN. The working hours are full-time, following the school term calendar.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
