Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Brent, London. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance and encouragement necessary to excel academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to students with special educational needs (SEN), assisting them in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, promoting a sense of belonging and ensuring all students feel valued and respected.
  • Assist students in developing their communication, social, and life skills, empowering them to become confident and independent learners.
  • Support students during transitions between activities and settings, offering guidance and reassurance as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs, coupled with patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the diverse needs of students, including those with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.
  • A commitment to upholding safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
