Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their learning and development
  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing individual education plans for students with SEN
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to students as directed by the teacher
  • Helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Assisting with the personal care needs of students, where required
  • Supporting students with behavioural and emotional difficulties
  • Assisting in the planning and preparation of lessons and resources

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths
  • Relevant qualifications or experience working with children with SEN

Education:

Further education qualifications in Education or Special Educational Needs (SEN) are desirable

Experience:

Prior experience working with children or young people with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support students with SEN
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy when working with students with SEN

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with regular school hours
