About the school:

This is a Hertfordshire maintained special school catering for the educational needs of students in the Early Years Foundation Stage, KS1,2,3 and 4 plus the 6th Form. All of the  students have  Severe or Profound Learning Difficulties, in addition to which many have a  complex medical, physical or sensory impairment; autism or speech, language and communication needs. The school is based in Abbots Langley, Watford and are looking for poeple who can commit to a full time position only. They provide traning once a week and there is a lot of room for progression.

About the Role:

Working as a SEND Support Worker you will provide support for students with varying needs who may find it difficult or be reluctant to engage in education. This will include building rapport with students and creating positive relationships which influence them to regulate their behaviour. Initially you will work on a temporary basis however there is opportunity for a school to offer you a permanent position should they require. 

Protocol Education are looking for candidates with a background in care to work in this cross-phase school supporting young people with additional needs. If you have a background in care or working with children with severe learning and physical difficulties this role could be perfect for you.

What we need from you:

If you have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Carer, Support worker or are passionate about improving the outcomes for young people this is the role for you. As an individual you will be outgoing and confident in your abilities to work with children with behavioural difficulties and learning difficulties.

It is essential applicants have an up to date Moving and Handling certificate or a willingness to complete the training upon registering.
