We’re currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across a range of needs. This is a rewarding role for someone who wants to be a steady, positive presence, helping children feel safe, supported and able to thrive in the classroom.

Role overview:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You’ll help children access lessons, build independence and develop essential life skills, all while working in line with individual education plans and school expectations. No two days are the same, and even the smallest wins can have a huge impact.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEN and SEMH in a consistent, patient and nurturing way

  • Help children feel understood, supported and fully included in school life

  • Encourage engagement and focus during classroom activities

  • Create a calm, positive and reassuring presence throughout the school day

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience working with children, SEN experience is highly valued

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service is desirable, though can be applied for if not currently held

  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, care or support roles

  • Clear, confident communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
