We’re recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant for a school in Sunderland that takes inclusion seriously. Staff work hard to ensure pupils with additional needs feel seen, supported, and capable of success, both academically and emotionally.

This role is ideal for someone who values consistency, clear routines, and building trust over time. You’ll work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support pupils in accessing learning in a way that works for them.

What you’ll be doing:
Providing 1:1 or small group SEN support
Supporting pupils with learning, communication, or emotional needs
Helping pupils feel confident and included in the classroom
Working alongside SENCOs and teaching staff
Supporting routines, transitions, and emotional regulation

What we’re looking for:
Experience supporting SEND pupils (school-based or similar settings)
A calm, nurturing, and adaptable approach
Strong observational and communication skills
Commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
