SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEND Setting
Location: Sunderland
Pay: £90–£110 per day
Contract: Full-time, long-term, with the potential to become permanent

We are working closely with a specialist SEND setting in Sunderland to appoint a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant. This school supports pupils with autism and complex learning needs and places a strong focus on emotional wellbeing, communication and independence.
This role would suit someone who understands that progress looks different for every child and that consistency, patience and trust are key.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND

Support pupils with communication, sensory processing and emotional regulation

Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering adapted learning activities

Help pupils engage with learning through structured routines and visual support
-
Promote positive behaviour and support personalised behaviour plans

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
