SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism Support
Location: South Shields
Pay: £90–£110 per day
Contract: Long-term with perm potential
This role is all about relationships.
You’ll support pupils with autism in a structured, nurturing environment that values consistency and understanding. The school offers excellent SEN leadership and ongoing training.
The role includes:

1:1 and classroom-based SEN support

Supporting communication and sensory needs
-
Helping pupils engage with learning in their own way

Working closely with SENCO and therapists
We’re looking for someone who:

Has SEN or care experience

Understands behaviour as communication
-
Brings patience, empathy and resilience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
