We working in partnership with a secondary school based in Tower Hamlets who are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant.

This amazing opportunity would be ideal for a passionate, warm, caring SEN Teaching Assistant who is confident in helping support young people in a range of special educational needs, including; Autism, ADHD, Social & Emotional Mental Health (SEMH).

About role:

Your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant would be to help in the organisation and preparation of classroom resources, to be passionate, interested and understanding to those with special educational needs. As a SEN Teaching Assistant you would also be working under the direction of the schools SENCO and so being a great team player is important. Additionally, you should encourage students to actively work independently for developmental purposes with a patient empathetic approach.

Though this role would be beneficial for a Teacher Graduate, those considering a career in Teaching or a Psychology Graduate who is seeking a career in Clinical or Educational Psychology. SEN Teaching Assistants would also provide a wide range of support to the teacher such as planning (under the guidance of teachers/specialists), resource, deliver, monitor and review progress for children.

About you:

  • Experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs such as Autism, ADHD, Social & Emotional Mental Health (SEMH).
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and reading comprehension.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
