Protocol Education are currently looking to employ a kind and nurturing individual to work as an SEN Teaching Assistant based in an Ofsted rated Good school in a friendly and attractive village in Doncater The school is a welcoming and supportive academy with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child and is looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting and caring for children with additional needs.

The role will give you the chance to gain classroom experience supporting children with SEND on a 1-1 and small group basis. Your role will include being responsible for ensuring that the pupils can integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken by the other children in the class and make progress as well as developing knowledge of the particular needs of the children and seeking advice from the SENCo, class teacher and any other outside agencies as required. You will also be required to provide positive reinforcement, praise and rewards to pupils therefore motivating them to complete their learning.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a nurturing approach and understand the importance of meeting the various needs of all children
  • Feel passionate about helping children to achieve their full potential
  • Believes that every student, regardless of their background or need, can make outstanding progress.

The candidate should be able to provide two references and will have relevant experience of working with children or young people. This role would be appropriate for people looking for full-time or part-time employment, minimum of 3 days per week (days flexible.)
