About the role
You’ll work closely with one pupil each day, helping them navigate lessons, routines, and social moments in a way that feels supportive and manageable.
You will:

Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND and SEMH needs

Follow their personalised learning plan and behaviour strategies

Create a calm, structured environment where the pupil can learn without pressure

Help build confidence, communication skills, and emotional regulation
-
Support the pupil through challenging moments with de-escalation and empathy

Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team
Requirements for working as a SEN Teaching Assistant

Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEND
-
A calm, positive, and resilient approach

Confidence supporting behaviour using agreed strategies

Strong communication and relationship-building skills
