Protocol Education are currently working with an ‘Ofsted outstanding’ joint primary and secondary SEND school in Barking and Dagenham which is expanding. The school are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant with SEND experience to join their growing team. 

 

You will be working with children of all age groups; each with statements of Special Education Needs. Most of the children you will be working with have very limited communication skills, and some are completely non-verbal. You will be working in either one class or working 1:1 with your selected student. This schools looks after children with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs (some wheelchair bound students) and Behavioural difficulties. Although, most of the time you will spend within one class.

 

To be eligible to apply for this position, it is essential that you have experience supporting pupils with Autism. In addition to this, PECS and/or Makaton will be useful in this post; however, training will be provided. 

 

You will need to be available to start immediately, as well as being able to commit to working full school hour stated above. As this is especially important when supporting pupils with limited communication skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
