SEN Teacher – Life Skills & Alternative Curriculum

Salary: £120–£220 per day
Looking for a role that feels more like mentoring than mainstream teaching?
We’re recruiting an SEN Teacher for a specialist provision within a Sunderland secondary school. You’ll deliver a life skills-based curriculum to KS4 pupils working towards functional skills and independence rather than formal GCSEs.
You’ll be doing:

Planning creative lessons around communication, teamwork, and practical skills

Supporting students with ASD, moderate learning difficulties, and anxiety

Building positive, lasting relationships that make school feel safe and rewarding
You’ll need:

QTS or QTLS
-
Experience with SEND or alternative provision

A genuine passion for helping pupils achieve on their own terms

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
