About the role
We’re recruiting a dedicated SEN Teacher to support children with autism, learning difficulties, and SEMH needs in a specialist setting in Sunderland. The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and strong focus on communication, wellbeing, and preparation for independence.

Your role will include:

  • Teaching small classes with tailored support.

  • Designing creative, differentiated learning opportunities.

  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff to meet individual needs.

  • Promoting resilience, curiosity, and positive behaviour through consistent routines.

  • Collaborating with families and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure holistic progress.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS).

  • Experience in SEND desirable, but not essential – full support and guidance provided.

  • Passion for inclusive teaching and learning.

  • Adaptable, patient, and confident in building relationships.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
