Are you an experienced SEN Teacher with a passion for helping every learner reach their potential?

We’re working with a specialist setting in the Sunderland area that provides tailored education for pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, MLD, and communication difficulties. They’re looking for a teacher who can bring structure, creativity, and compassion to the classroom.

Your role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual EHCP targets

  • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent progress

  • Use creative, sensory, and communication-based approaches to learning

  • Build a positive, inclusive environment where every pupil feels seen and supported

You’ll need:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally within specialist settings

  • Calm, adaptable approach and strong behaviour management skills

  • Confidence using visual supports, communication aids, or sensory tools
