About the role
We’re looking for a passionate and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a specialist secondary provision in Blyth, supporting young people aged 11–19 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This is an opportunity to make a real difference to pupils who may have faced barriers to learning, helping them re-engage with education through a personalised, therapeutic and relationship-centred approach.
Key duties

Deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs and emotional development.

Create a safe, nurturing classroom where pupils feel valued, respected and motivated.

Implement positive behaviour support strategies to promote self-regulation and confidence.

Collaborate closely with support staff, therapists, and families to achieve holistic outcomes for pupils.

Track and report on progress, contributing to individual education and behaviour plans.
What we’re looking for
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).

Experience teaching pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs (in a specialist or mainstream setting).

A compassionate, patient and restorative approach to behaviour management.

Strong communication, adaptability and emotional intelligence.

Commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed teaching and pupil wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
