SEN Teacher – Secondary (Complex Needs)
Location: Gateshead
Contract: Full-time, Ongoing
Start date: November 2025
Pay: £120–£200 per day (PAYE)
Are you a compassionate and creative teacher who thrives in a nurturing, specialist environment?
We’re looking for an SEN Teacher to join a dedicated team supporting secondary-age pupils with complex learning needs. You’ll work with a small class supported by experienced TAs, delivering a mix of academic and life-skills-based learning.
Your day-to-day:

Delivering engaging, hands-on lessons adapted to varying abilities

Embedding communication strategies such as PECS or Makaton

Working closely with the SENCO and external specialists

Promoting independence, wellbeing, and progress for every learner
What we’d love to see:

QTS or equivalent teaching qualification

Experience with SEN learners (ASD, MLD, or PMLD experience ideal)

Calm, resilient approach and genuine passion for inclusive education
