✨ SEN Teacher (QTS Required) – Alternative Provision, Harlow ✨
Are you a qualified teacher looking to make a real difference?
Do you have a passion for supporting vulnerable young people who need a fresh start?
Are you committed to inclusive, trauma-informed education?
Protocol Education are working closely with a specialist provision in Harlow to recruit a dedicated SEN Teacher (QTS required) to support pupils from across West Essex.
This setting provides education for students who have been permanently excluded from, or are unable to access, mainstream school due to a range of social, emotional and behavioural challenges. Many pupils arrive with multiple vulnerabilities, including SEMH needs, behavioural difficulties, and often undiagnosed additional learning needs. Some students may also have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or be in the process of assessment.
The school offers a structured, nurturing environment focused on re-engaging pupils with learning, rebuilding confidence, and promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. Teachers work closely with support staff and external professionals to deliver individualised and flexible curricula tailored to each pupil.
The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and demonstrate a calm, resilient, and trauma-informed approach, with strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils who may have had negative experiences of education. Experience within SEND, SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision settings is highly desirable, though applications from ECTs and teachers with transferable experience are welcomed.
