SEN Teacher – Nurture & Engagement Focus
Location: Sunderland
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate or January 2026
Salary: £140–£220 per day (depending on experience)
Do you love seeing those lightbulb moments when a pupil finally clicks with their learning?
We’re looking for a patient, creative SEN Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Sunderland. The school has a small, dedicated SEN base that supports pupils with autism, ADHD, and social-emotional needs. You’ll plan tailored lessons that focus on engagement, confidence, and progress at each student’s pace.
What you’ll be doing:

Teaching small groups (KS3–KS4) with individual learning plans

Working closely with a strong SENCO and pastoral team

Using creative approaches to build trust and motivation
-
Creating a calm, positive learning environment where everyone feels safe to succeed

You’ll need:

QTS or equivalent SEN teaching experience

Knowledge of autism and SEMH strategies
