SEN Teacher – Gateshead (Full-Time)

About the role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a nurturing specialist school in Gateshead, supporting pupils aged 4–11 with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and complex learning difficulties.
You’ll deliver creative, personalised lessons that support each pupil’s progress and wellbeing, working alongside a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants and therapists.
Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.

Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent approaches.

Create a safe, structured environment that promotes emotional regulation and confidence.

Assess, record, and celebrate each child’s progress and achievements.

Model positive behaviour and inclusive values throughout the day.
What we’re looking for
-
QTS or QTLS (or in the process of obtaining).

Experience working with pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential — training and support are provided.

A caring, patient, and adaptable approach.

Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for learning.

Commitment to inclusive, child-centred education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
