We’re supporting a welcoming school in Gateshead that’s looking for an SEN Support Teaching Assistant to join their team and help pupils feel settled, confident and ready to learn.
This is a school where relationships come first. Staff work closely together, communication is open and pupils are supported at their own pace.
What you’ll be doing

Supporting pupils with additional needs including autism, ADHD, learning differences and SEMH

Working 1:1 or in small groups to keep pupils engaged and feeling secure

Helping with communication, emotional regulation and daily routines

Using positive, consistent strategies set by the SEN and pastoral teams

Building warm, trusting relationships with pupils who rely on steady adults

Supporting teachers in creating an inclusive, structured classroom environment

A calm presence, especially during busy or tricky moments

Experience in SEN, care, coaching, tutoring or youth work is helpful but not essential
