We’re working with a local secondary school looking for a caring, consistent, and confident individual to join their SEND team and make a real difference to pupils who need extra guidance and structure.
What the role involves as a SEND Support Assistant
You’ll work closely with students who have a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and stay settled in school. Every day will be different, and you’ll be part of a supportive team that values patience, teamwork, and clear routines.
Support may include:

1:1 support with individual pupils
-
Small group interventions
-
In-class support alongside the teacher
How you’ll make an impact

Providing tailored support to pupils with SEND
-
Helping young people manage routines, emotions, and behaviour
-
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
-
Encouraging positive engagement in lessons

Supporting pupils during transitions, unstructured times, or challenging moments
-
Being a calm, safe, and trusted presence around the school
We’d love to hear from you if you have:

Experience supporting young people with SEND, SEMH, or behavioural needs
-
A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Confidence supporting pupils with a range of needs
-
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
