We’re working with a brilliant specialist school in Durham that’s looking for a calm, patient, and caring SEN Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil who needs consistent, gentle guidance throughout the school day. This school is known for its nurturing approach, small class sizes, and staff who genuinely root for every child.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing steady, structured 1:1 support

  • Helping your pupil navigate their daily routines and learning

  • Using sensory strategies and visual tools to encourage engagement

  • Working closely with the SENCO and therapy team

  • Creating a safe, predictable space where progress feels possible

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
