Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Primary Teacher to join our team in Croydon, Greater London. As an SEN Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with special educational needs.

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of SEN students
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to parents and caregivers
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development
  • Participate in Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings and contribute to the overall educational planning for SEN students
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and support students in developing social and emotional skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge and experience working with SEN students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching SEN students

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SEN curriculum and teaching strategies
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and provide personalised learning experiences
  • Understanding of behaviour management techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training or certification in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Experience working in a multicultural and diverse school environment

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a school setting, following the academic calendar. Full-time hours are expected, with occasional meetings or events outside of regular school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
