Job Description:

As an SEN Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing individualised educational plans for students with special educational needs (SEN) in a primary school setting. Your primary focus will be on providing tailored support to help SEN students achieve their full potential and academic goals.

Job Duties:

  • Developing and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of SEN students
  • Assessing students' abilities and designing appropriate learning activities
  • Collaborating with other teachers and support staff to create a supportive learning environment
  • Monitoring and tracking student progress, and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
  • Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals involved in the students' education

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in teaching students with SEN
  • Strong understanding of SEN policies and best practises

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience working with SEN students in a primary school setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Education Needs (SEN)
  • Experience using assistive technology and resources to support SEN students

Working Conditions:

You will work full-time hours in a primary school in Croydon, Greater London. The role may involve some additional responsibilities outside of regular school hours, such as attending meetings or parent consultations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
