As a Maths Teacher at a reputable Specialist Provision, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality Mathematics Education to Primary and Secondary students aged between 9 - 16. Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, providing personalized support, and contributing to the overall Academic Environment.

The ideal candidate is experienced and passionate about Mathematics and Education, and Special Educational Needs experience is preferred.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and Deliver Lessons: Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to a range of abilities and learning styles. Ensure lessons are aligned with the curriculum and educational standards.
  • Assess and Monitor Student Progress: Design and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Provide Personalised Support: Identify students who need extra help and provide 1:1 or small group support. Tailor teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Prepare Teaching Materials: Create and organise resources such as worksheets, presentations, and interactive activities to enhance learning.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, participation, and a love for learning. Implement effective classroom management strategies.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work with other teachers and staff to improve the Mathematics Curriculum and share best practices. Participate in department meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Engage with Parents and Guardians: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and any concerns. Attend parent-teacher conferences as needed.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Support and participate in extracurricular activities, such as Math Clubs, competitions, and school events, to further students' interest and engagement in Mathematics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational Background: A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Teaching Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) are required.
  • Experience: Previous teaching experience is preferred, with a proven track record of effective teaching and student progress.
  • Passion for Education: A genuine passion for mathematics and a commitment to inspiring and supporting students.
  • Special Educational Needs: Experience in Special Educational Needs is preferred but not essential. However, you must be willing to support students with a variety of needs including Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Withholds or is willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Demonstrated commitment to education and personal growth.
  • Knowledge of Special Educational Needs.
