Qualifications:

Teaching Assistant Level 1, Education.

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)  for students.
  • Support students with social, emotional, and mental health issues (SEMH).
  • Help manage challenging behaviour and provide a safe learning environment.
  • Assist in the supervision of students during break times and outings.
  • Provide a positive and nurturing learning environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Teaching Assistant Level 1 qualification
  • Education background

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with students with ASD and SEMH
  • First aid training
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an educational setting
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional qualifications in SEN support and understanding autism.
  • Training in behaviour management techniques.

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in a classroom setting.
  • May involve occasional outings or trips with students.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support assistants.
  • Full-time hours with standard school term dates.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
