Looking for a role where you’re genuinely needed every single day?

We’re working with welcoming schools in Romford who are looking for a full-time Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with SEND on a consistent, long-term basis. This isn’t a stop-gap role. It’s about being a familiar face, a steady presence, and a key part of a child’s school journey.

If you’ve supported children with additional needs before and love seeing small wins turn into big confidence boosts, this one’s for you.

What your days will look like

  • 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, helping them feel safe, supported, and ready to learn

  • Working closely with teachers to bring individual education plans to life in the classroom

  • Guiding and encouraging pupils through lessons, activities, and routines

  • Calm, positive behaviour support, including de-escalation when things feel tricky

  • Building strong relationships with staff, families, and external professionals

  • Creating an inclusive classroom where every child feels they belong

This is a hands-on, meaningful role where your presence really matters. You’ll see progress, build trust, and make a difference that lasts.

What you’ll need

  • The right to work in the UK

  • A valid DBS, or willingness to apply

  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs

  • A flexible, patient approach and the ability to adapt to different learning styles

  • Plenty of empathy and a genuine passion for supporting young people

Why work with Protocol Education?

  • Full-time, consistent work in schools that value support staff

  • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella companies

  • Free CPD-accredited training, including SEND-focused courses

  • A dedicated consultant who actually listens and supports you

  • Opportunities to grow your experience in brilliant local schools

If you’re ready for a full-time role where you’re more than just extra hands in the room, we’d love to hear from you.
