SEN Classroom Assistant – Mixed Needs Primary

Location: South Bristol
Pay: £90 to £100 per day (PAYE)
Hours: 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday

A friendly, inclusive SEN primary school in South Bristol is looking for a full-time Classroom Assistant to join their team in January. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including communication differences, sensory processing challenges, and SEMH, so every day feels meaningful, varied, and full of small wins.

You don’t need experience to get started, just patience, care, and a positive approach. The team will guide you through everything you need to know, and you’ll have support from experienced teachers, a brilliant SENCO, and specialist staff on site.

What your day will look like

• Helping to set up the classroom for sensory and structured learning
• Supporting pupils during lessons with tasks, communication aids, or movement breaks
• Running or joining in with sensory activities like messy play, tactile stations, or calming routines
• Using visual supports to help pupils understand their day
• Encouraging pupils to build independence in small, achievable steps
• Taking part in outdoor learning, structured play, and hands-on activities
• Working closely with a warm, experienced team who will support you every step of the way

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
