Protocol Education are seeking a Class Teacher to join a specialist school in Chelmsford. 

This is a very exciting opportunity to join a highly professional team and an outstanding special School and College for pupils ages 5-19 with moderate learning difficulties and additional complex needs of Autism, ADHD, speech & language and social communication difficulties.

The school offers a tailored curriculum that focuses on key skills, whilst also providing a broad and engaging knowledge base. Promoting independence and personal and social skills are fundamental to every lesson.

Job Duties:

As an SEN Class Teacher MLD, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing individualised education plans for students with Moderate Learning Disabilities (MLD)
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of students with MLD
  • Assessing student progress and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
  • Collaborating with parents, support staff, and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of students
  • Maintaining accurate records of student performance and progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with Moderate Learning Disabilities (MLD)
  • Knowledge of SEN Code of Practise and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of different learning styles and ability to differentiate instruction
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to adapt to diverse student needs

Pay:

Teacher Main Pay Range or UPN plus 1SEN in accordance with School Teachers' Pay & Conditions Document
