A Specialist School in Somerset are looking for a class teacher on a maternity cover contract.

The students are aged 11-19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties, moderate learning difficulties and autism. Experience with this would be an advantage.

The school are looking for a dynamic, resilient and creative full time teacher to start September 2024, on maternity cover contract until December 2024.

You would be expected to raise aspirations and focus on student outcomes. They have developed their education pathway for students to work towards a college placement or paid employment.

You would be expected to:

Prioritising and managing your time effectively to deliver the vision of the learning with good pace.

Work with the leadership team and colleauges to ensure the highest priority is given to safeguarding and promoting welfare of the children.

Set targets for students, demonstrating and articulating high expectations and setting challenges for each student.

Ensure a consistent and continuous focus on pupil achievement.

Review own practice regularly, setting personal targets and taking responsibility for own personal development.
