We are actively support workers and teaching assistants from a wide variety of creative backgrounds such as acting, music, art who are keen to apply their creative skills within a special educational needs school in South Tyneside.

As a teaching assistant you will be required to think creatively and apply your skills to sensory sessions, develop students hand eye coordination, speech & language skills, social/communication skills, speech and language skills, independence and cognitive processes. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work within a variety of different subjects such as cooking, art & music.

The role:

Working full time - Monday to Friday 08:30 - 15:30

Engaging students through creative activities such as P.E., cooking, art and music

One to one support focusing on students communication and hand eye coordination

Ensuring the schools ethos and policies are being implemented

Helping with sensory integration within the classroom

Working with the teacher to assess pupils' levels and ability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
