We’re looking for a kind, patient 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with severe learning difficulties in a nurturing school setting. This role is all about consistency, trust, and being that steady presence a child can rely on, even on the tough days.
You won’t be rushing between tasks or managing big groups. Your focus is one child, their needs, and helping them access school life in a way that works for them.
What you’ll be doing day to day:

Providing 1:1 support tailored to a child with severe learning difficulties

Helping with communication, routines, and emotional regulation

Supporting learning through sensory, practical, and play-based activities
-
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team

Creating a calm, safe space where the child can feel confident and understood
This role could be for you if you:

Have experience supporting children with SEND, particularly severe learning difficulties

Are calm, patient, and unflappable when things don’t go to plan

Understand that behaviour is communication

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
