SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH Support Across School
Location: Bradford Primary School
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term
A diverse and supportive primary school in Bradford is looking for a confident SEN Teaching Assistant to provide SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) support across KS1 and KS2. This is a varied role working with different pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation, behaviour or self-esteem.
Key responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in class, small groups and during transitions

Using de-escalation strategies and promoting positive behaviour

Helping pupils develop resilience, confidence and social skills

Working with the wider pastoral and SEN team to implement support plans

Building strong, consistent relationships with pupils
The ideal candidate:

Experience supporting children with SEMH needs

Confident in behaviour strategies and restorative approaches
-
Resilient, understanding and able to adapt to changing needs

Skilled at building trust and positive working relationships

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
