SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH Specialist School
Location: Islington
Pay: £90 to £95 per day
Contract: Day-to-day cover, immediate start

What the role involves

Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs

Helping young people regulate, reset, and re-engage with learning

Using de-escalation strategies and trauma-informed approaches

Working closely with teachers, mentors, and pastoral leads

Modelling calm, consistency, and clear boundaries
You’ll shine in this role if you have

Experience in SEMH, PRU, youth work, residential care, or behaviour support

A calm, patient approach when emotions run high

Strong communication skills and a sense of humour that works wonders

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
