About the role
We’re seeking a caring and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support primary pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in a nurturing specialist environment. The school provides a structured and supportive approach to help every child feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
Your day-to-day

Support pupils in small groups or 1:1, helping them access learning and manage emotions.

Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction through clear boundaries and consistent routines.

Work closely with teachers, behaviour mentors, and families to promote stability and progress.

Use de-escalation and positive reinforcement strategies to support emotional wellbeing.

Help create a calm, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
What we’re looking for

Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs is helpful but not required.

Compassion, patience, and resilience are essential.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly.

Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
