SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full Time
Location: South Tyneside
Contract: Full time, long term
Start: ASAP
Pay: £89 to £110 per day (PAYE)
This specialist setting is looking for a compassionate, resilient SEMH TA who can support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. If you’re naturally calm and brilliant at building trust, you’ll be perfect.
Your day will include:

Supporting pupils during emotional regulation and high-anxiety moments

Using Trauma-Informed and Thrive-style approaches

Encouraging small steps in confidence, routines and behaviour
-
Helping pupils re-engage with learning at their own pace
-
Working with SEND, behaviour and pastoral teams
We’re looking for:

Experience supporting SEMH, behaviour or high needs

Someone who builds relationships quickly

A steady, patient person who pupils can rely on

A driver who can travel across South Tyneside

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
