We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in South Tyneside, starting in September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping the future of students who need your support the most.

Role Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs and Complex Behaviours, both in 1:1 settings and in small groups.
- Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to implement and support behaviour management strategies.
- Assist students in developing coping mechanisms and social skills, promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Create a safe and nurturing learning environment where all students can succeed.
- Liaise with parents, teachers, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support for each student.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs and Complex Behaviours is highly desirable.
- Qualities: We value patience, resilience, and a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable children.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or SEMH training are beneficial.
- Adaptability: The ability to respond effectively to challenging situations and tailor support to individual student needs is essential.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach are crucial for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
