Are you a passionate sports graduate with a desire to make a difference in the lives of young people facing Special Emotional and Mental Health challenges? We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your love for sports with your dedication to supporting students with SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support and assistance to students with SEMH needs.
  • Utilise your knowledge and skills in sports to engage students in physical activities, promoting their well-being and mental health as well as in their core subjects.
  • Assist classroom teachers in delivering personalised learning plans, ensuring each student's individual needs are met.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to implement strategies for managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive social interactions.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field (desired but not essential).
  • Experience working with individuals with SEMH challenges (desirable but not essential.)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Passion for sports and a creative approach to using sports activities to support learning and development.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a willingness to adapt to the diverse needs of students in a dynamic educational setting.
  • Relevant certifications in first aid, safeguarding, or behaviour management are advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
