SEMH Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a full time, SEMH Teaching Assistant in an SEN School based in South Tyneside. The role will start ASAP.

The Role The candidate must be an experienced Teaching Assistant with an abundance of experience in Special Educational Needs. The role will be to support childrens with behavioral needs which will require the candidate to have good behavior management skills. If you feel that you have vast knowledge and experience with complex physical needs as well as behavior needs such as ADHD, SEMH and Autism; get in touch!

The candidate must have:

• experience supporting children (personal or professional)

• Experience and knowledge of supporting children with SEN and complex needs

• Excellent behaviour management skills

• Excellent communication skills

• DBS 

• References for last 2 years work history

• Up to date CV

The School Children come to this school in order to access their unique curriculum which puts the needs of the individual child first. They aim to provide every child with a rich variety of experiences to stimulate, engage, delight and encourage learning. All the children at the school experience severe or profound difficulties in learning. There may also be the need for additional support with sensory impairments such as vision, hearing or sensory integration difficulties. Many children also access support for physical disabilities and complex medical conditions. The School currently have five class groups dedicated to the needs of children with autism.
